Import Datasystem

To import a file from your local hard drive into the datasystem, open the desired datasystem and click on the Import Datasystem icon in the tool bar. In displayed window follow next steps:

  1. Click on the ellipses (‘...’) symbol. In the window that displays, browse the import file and confirm by clicking the Open button.
Tip: For correct file import, select appropriate Language and Character Set of the import file.
  2. Rows and columns from source file will be displayed in main part of the window. Click on the columns and select Column type.

None – data in column will not have a specified Column type, however other columns may have relations with this column.

Tag - the number express a certain value valid "as of" a certain date (at that moment). Aggregating two or more numbers of this type seems unreasonable or irrational.

    • Use as a Code – if this option is checked, data in this column will be an Item code. You cannot identify Items by e.g. numbers, dates or boolean values. The Item Code must not be used for any other purpose than identifying Items.
    • Ignore Blanks - if this option is checked, rows with blank cells in the column will not be imported.
    • Tag ID – select from drop-down list one of the following options:
      • Header – Header of the selected column will be Tag ID
      • Custom – You can enter a desired name in displayed field or select existing tags in datasystem.
      • Column – You can set one of other columns in source file that will be Tag ID. Enter the index of other Columns. 0 for first column, 1 for second column, etc.
    • Tag Name – select from the drop-down list one of the following options:
      • Header – Header of the selected column will be Tag Name
      • Custom – You can enter a desired name in displayed field.
      • Column – You can set one of other columns in source file that will be Tag Name. Enter the index of other Columns. 0 for first column, 1 for second column, etc.
    • Data Type - select from drop-down list one of the following options:
      • Double – Stores a rational number that may have a fractional part.
      • Integer – Stores whole numbers but not fractions. If a fraction is passed, it will be automatically rounded to the nearest integer (whole number).
      • Date / Time – Stores dates (including time) with a maximum precision limited to seconds.
      • String – Stores strings consisting of characters. Poweroom stores strings encoded in UTF-8 allowing users to use special characters from nearly all languages.
      • Boolean – Stores a logical type that can be either "true" or "false".
      • Enum – Stores drop-down list of user defined options.

Value - the number expressed as an amount of something accumulated "for" a certain period of time. Aggregation of several numbers into a single one (e.g. calculate their summary, mean average, maximum value, etc.). E.g. takes all numbers belonging to a year and summarizing them to get an annual figure.

    • Ignore Blanks - if this option is checked, rows with blank cells in the column will not be imported.
    • Tag ID – select from drop-down list one of the following option:
      • Header – Header of the selected column will be Tag ID
      • Custom – You can enter a desired name in displayed field or select an existing Value in datasystem.
      • Column – You can set one or other columns in the source file that will be the Tag ID. Enter the index of other Columns. 0 for first column, 1 for second column, etc.
    • Tag Name – select from drop-down list one of the following option:
      • Header – Header of the selected column will be the Tag Name
      • Custom – You can enter a desired name in displayed field.
      • Column – You can set one of other columns in source file that will be the Tag Name. Enter the index of other Columns. 0 for first column, 1 for second column, etc.
    • Data Type - select from drop-down list one of the following option:
      • Double – Stores a rational number that may have a fractional part.

      • Enum – Stores a drop-down list of user defined options.
    • Stage - select from the drop-down list the required time ranges (second, minute, hour, etc.) for the Item. For each stage select a Date Source column from the drop-down list and one of the following options:
      • Header – Header of the selected column will be Tag ID
      • Custom – You can enter a desired name in displayed field or select existing tags in datasystem.
